According to Professor Aşkın Aslan Haşturk, a renowned brain surgeon and specialist in neurology, the phenomenon of brain rot is closely tied to the continuous and unnecessary use of social media platforms. This excessive engagement with endless content leads to cognitive numbness. Professor Haşturk, who works at the Cancer Research and Training Hospital in Ankara, Turkey, points out that this condition affects individuals across all age groups.


The term "brain rot" refers to the decline in cognitive functions, such as memory and social interaction, due to the overwhelming influence of digital platforms.
